Describe some of the steps you’ve taken to clarify your career path.

By gaining connections through my (PanHellenic) chapter and classmates, I was able to find the things I was most passionate about and get involved on Florida State’s campus beyond just being a student.

How far in advance did you prepare for obtaining an internship?

By gaining my own campus experience, talking to my advisor, and meeting with a career advisor at The Career Center about my resume, I was able to prepare for the internship.

Describe some of your internship responsibilities or duties.

During the hours spent at my internship, I typically am working at the front desk answering any phone calls that come in and assisting with anyone that enters into Senator Dean’s office. I am there to assist during the sessions, running bills and proposals to other parts of the building. (The interns) are also able to write articles on specific topics or interests of our choice that will go in the local paper for the Capitol building employees to read. I have also been given the opportunity to learn about specific topics of government and will be able to "specialize" in criminal justice.

What are some major takeaways from your internship experience? How has this prepared you for the next step in your career?

Much of my experience has helped me to gain or improve many skills needed to get a job or internship. I have gained confidence in my communication abilities, time management, organization, and leadership.

What other activities are you involved with on campus?

I am a senior involved in my sorority, Phi Mu, as well as other organizations on campus. Throughout my time here at FSU, I have had many leadership roles within my chapter, such as social chair and Greek relations. I have been a Morale Captain for the largest student-run philanthropy on campus, Dance Marathon. I also had the privilege of being a Recruitment Counselor for PanHellenic, as well as a third-time FSU Batgirl and this year’s current President.

Do you have anything further to share with other Noles?

Getting involved on campus has allowed me to meet so many more amazing people than I could have ever imagined. By joining organizations and philanthropies, I have been able to grow as an individual and find the confidence needed to land a part-time job in college, as well as an internship with a Florida Senator.
