Career Key is a computer-based career resource library management system developed by Career Center staff. You can access thousands of career resources available in The Career Center library through Career Key's unique cataloging system, which includes Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes to index occupational information. Career Key can be searched by subject, author/title, occupation or program of study.

In order to receive a computer printout of resources, you choose one of the six subject categories from the main menu (subsections of each category are shown in parenthesis):
- Career and Life Planning (career choice/change, occupational outlook, lifestyles, special populations)
- Occupational Information (multiple and specific occupations, occupations by program of study)
- Educational and Training Opportunities (training programs, vocational/technical schools, colleges/universities, FSU academic programs, alternative education, financial aid, special groups)
- Work Experience (cooperative education programs, summer jobs, internships, volunteering)
- Job Hunting Skills (resume writing, letter writing, interviewing, and job hunting techniques)
- Employer Information Resources (employment leads, employer information by career field, overseas employers, U.S. employers by location, trade and professional associations)
- Author/Title (search for resource by author or title)
After choosing one of these main subjects, you must specify which subsection is of interest to you. The Career Advisors, Career Center librarian or library assistants can help you find and use the resources outline on your computer printout.
