Melissa Blackburn (Progressive Insurance), Crystal Swain-Bates, Alice Brown, Shavonne Mostella The Career Center held the fourth Career Portfolio Contest this past fall. This year's judges (employers and FSU faculty/administration) reviewed top entries to identify the highest quality portfolios. Congratulations to our winners!! First Place Graduate Portfolio – Crystal Swain-BatesCrystal is a first-year Master’s student in the International Affairs program. Her career objective is to use her fluency in French and knowledge of foreign affairs to support U.S national security interests in oil-producing nations of Western Africa. Her long-term goal is to work as an international consultant. Career PortfolioFirst Place Undergraduate Portfolio - Alice BrownAlice is a third-year undergraduate student majoring in Multinational Business and Economics with a minor in Chinese. Upon graduation, she would like to travel to China to teach English for a year and work on mastering the language. After completing graduate school in the United States, she would like to again return to China, working in the financial services sector. Her long term goal is to serve as a consultant to American companies trying to enter the Chinese market. Career PortfolioSecond Place - Shavonne MostellaShavonne is a third-year undergraduate student majoring in Elementary Education. She plans to pursue a Master's degree in multicultural or urban education, and eventually an Ed.D. in administration. She would like be the principal of a school that works extensively with low-income, primary-grade students who are learning English as a second language. Career PortfolioThird Place - Jillian BrackenJillian is a second-year master's student in the Higher Education program. She currently works as the Assistant Residence Hall Coordinator for Salley Hall. Jillian completed a Bachelors of Music degree in Honors Music Education at the University of Western Ontario in London, ON, Canada. Upon completing her current degree, Jillian will begin a second master's degree in music psychology at FSU in September 2007. Career PortfolioAppreciation is expressed to our judges:
