• Validity of Content
  The dialogues that link audience needs to resources were developed based on the professional experience and expert judgment of masters and doctoral level counseling practitioners and practitioners in training. Resources (e.g., papers and presentations) were authored, reviewed, and/or edited by staff who are credited on each title page. Where appropriate, the content in each resource was cited and referenced using the publication style of the American Psychological Association. The credentials of many of these authors can be viewed at our staff page. 
  
  The Florida State university-developed resources, that are linked to individual user groups, were originally designed for both self-help and practitioner-assisted use. Anecdotal evidence from the FSU Career Center has indicated that client versions of these resources help clients to understand and manage the career decision-making process.
  
  
• Validity of Need-Based Approach
  The need-based approach used in this Web site is built upon over two years of development. By combining learning and communication theory with cognitive psychology, the site is designed to maximize a user's learning outcomes. Informal usability testing to confirm Web site functionality has demonstrated the utility of the need-based approach.
