Approximately 50 participants and presenters attended the second FSU
Career conference / reunion. They had a busy two days of activities
covering a wide range of topics in career development unified by the
cognitive information processing approach to career development.

and the audience listen to a session speaker.

Dr. Jeff Garis, Director of the FSU Career
Center gives the lunchtime audience a presentation on the challenges of
leading a university career center. It was like the Twilight Zone.

FSU alumnus, Dr. Howard Figler provided the key note address for the
conference.

Two FSU alumnae, Ms. Michelle R.
Romine, MS, Training Specialist, Global Training & Organizational
Development, Arthur Andersen and Jodi Thiel, MS/EdS, Account
Executive, BrassRing Campus discuss trends and issues in their work with individual and
organizational clients in the for-profit sector.

Dr.Abiola Dipeolu, Staff Psychologist, Counseling and Testing
Center, Wichita State University presents on career interventions to meet the needs of
college students with learning disabilities.

Dr. Stephen Leierer, Department of Rehabilitation Counseling,
Louisiana State Univeristy
Health Sciences Center leads a discussion on the conceptualization of clients in terms of Holland's
RIASEC typology by rehabilitation counselors.

Alums Beverly Fogarty-Pagel, MS/EdS, Former Senior Workforce Development
Specialist, Big Bend Jobs & Education Council and Kathy Barrett, MS/EdS, One-Stop Coordinator, Texas Workforce Center of Williamson
County discuss issues, trends, and challenges to providing comprehensive
career development services in workforce development
centers.

Dr. Janet Lenz, Associate Director FSU Career Center introduces Dr. Kerry
McCaig, Director of Student Life, Arapahoe Community College who gave a
energizing and inspiring closing session which compared career
counseling to mountain climbing.
