Mock Interview Program

One of the best ways to prepare for post-graduate opportunities is to participate in a mock interview. The Career Center offers phone, Skype, in-person, and panel mock interviews. Mock interviews at The Career Center are practice interviews conducted by trained Mock Interview Mentors and tailored to your individual occupational area or industry.

The Mock Interview Program allows you to hone your interviewing skills while developing confidence in your ability to deliver strong interview performances. You don’t have to be searching for a job or internship to participate in the Mock Interview Program. It is never too early to start working on this essential career development skill!

Skype, panel, and in-person mock interviews are conducted in The Career Center, located in the Dunlap Success Center. Interviewees should report at least 10 minutes early.

Summer 2015 Program Information

The Mock Interview Program will be in operation on a limited basis during the Summer 2015 term. Please utilize the following information to help plan and schedule a mock interview:

Summer B Session Mock Interviews (May 11-June 19)

The Mock Interview Program will be able to accommodate mock interviews on a case-by-case basis from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Students will be able to request mock interviews by completing the following steps:

1) Students must submit a formal email request for a mock interview to the Mock Interview Program email account (
2) The Program Coordinator will verify that students have PLUS! services and schedule interviews with appropriate staff.

Please note: Students must send in their formal email request at least 2 business days prior to their actual interview date. Additional preference will be given to students with an August 2015 graduation date during this time.

Summer C Session Mock Interviews (June 22-August 7)

The Mock Interview Program will hold regularly scheduled interviews Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesday from 1-3 p.m. Students will be able to request mock interviews as normal through SeminoleLink within the “SeminoleLink Opportunities” section of the Jobs tab. Students can begin to sign up for Summer C mock interviews on June 15. In the event a student cannot meet during these time periods, an accommodation could be potentially made through a formal email request to the mock interview program email account.

How Do I Schedule a Mock Interview?

  1. Activate SeminoleLink Plus! services.
  2. Click the “Jobs” tab, and view “SeminoleLink Job Opportunities.”
  3. Click on the “FSU Mock (Practice) Interview” tab. This will bring up all available interview dates.
  4. Click “Apply” when you find a date that works with your schedule.
  5. Submit your resume and a cover letter.

How Do I Make Changes to My Schedule?

  1. Click “Interviews” on the navigation bar.
  2. Select the “Scheduled Interviews” tab. You will find options to “Cancel” or “Reschedule.”

How Do I Request a Skype, Phone, or Panel Mock Interview?

Email  at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled interview. Within the email, include your name, your interview date, and your specific time slot.

No-Show/Cancellation Policy

Any student that does not show up or cancel a mock interview will be blocked from participating in any on-campus interviewing activities until a letter of apology addressed to the Mock Interview Mentor is mailed or emailed to the Assistant Director for Mock Interviews. Two no-shows or late cancellations within the same semester will result in a permanent loss of ALL on-campus interviewing privileges. Documented illness is not considered a no-show; however, an apology letter is still required, addressed to:
