Describe the steps you took to obtain your internship.

I was introduced to Dr. Asha and Temple Fit by a professor in an Experiential Learning course in Spring 2023. I was a volunteer who enjoyed Day of Dialogue on Mental Health and Mental Health Literacy Series 5 so much that I applied to become an intern.

What was a typical day like "on the job?"

A typical day on the job includes attending and being of service at a community event or a university campus event, assisting the faculty member, taking attendance numbers and demographics, taking pictures and videos, and completing a SWOT analysis of the event.

What are some major takeaways from your experience? How will these help prepare you for the next step after graduation?

One major takeaway is that I am more than capable of being an advocate for myself as well as others in our time of need. I've also been able to increase my computer competencies with Google and Microsoft Office programs.

Did this experience help clarify your career path? If yes, how so?

This experience opened me up to the paths that I could take as I am now graduating from FSU. I had a full proof plan to become a surgeon but now I prefer methods that help people not get to the place of needing medical attention in the first place.
