I attended the FAMU-FSU STEM FAIR in 2022. There I met several companies and I put forward my applications, and did interviews till I got selected.

Describe some of your responsibilities or duties during your experiential learning opportunity.

Design of structural components of the secondary parts of a tunnel cut and cover. Spreadsheet application for calculations.

What are some major takeaways from your experience? How will these help prepare you for the next step after graduation?

First is to have self-discipline and work more on self-improvement, especially when in a team that discriminates and doesn't welcome you. Second, do not allow negative reviews to weigh you down. Rather, open yourself to criticism, learn from it, and apply needed correction even if you aren't given the chance to prove yourself.

Did this experience help clarify your career path? If yes, how so?

Yes it did, as it made me realize a big company name and advertisement of diverse culture doesn't make it true, and that working in an environment where there's acceptance is more important than the size of the company. Also, I discovered my versatility and relentless spirit.
